Estonia, Tallinn

Arrived at the Tallinn airport and was welcomed by my smiling friend! :)
As we were leaving the airport she spotted a friend of hers and started to chat with him, which in the end scored us a ride to her apartment. Win :)

The first and only day I woke up early in Tallinn we went to an underground passageways/bunkers/tunnels thing which was really cool and cool. They gave us blankets (can't imagine that place during winter!)

Tallinn has a very interesting history!
All around the old town is surrounded by wall towers, which is really beautiful and also a big reminder of thousands of years worth of history.

We went to eat the best pancakes in the world at Kompressor. I tried one with garlic and cheese and it was divine. The same couldn't be said about my breath afterwards, though. We tried to go back there another day, but we got the time wrong :/

My friend gave me a super adorable pair of handcrafted earrings but one of them broke two days later :( I've got to get it fixed so I can wear them again :) or get a third hole in one of my earlobes so I can get away with wearing just one of them :)

The old town is absolutely lovely, with cobblestone streets and everything!

We climbed some church there and had an amazing view of the town. I think it's the highest place you can go to have such a nice view of the entire town. We also went to other points in the old town where we also had amazing views, but from a lower perspective.

We went to the beach and it was super nice, the water was warm because we went there after it had absorbed all the heat of the day lol It's a funny beach because it has no waves and the shore is really shallow and it takes a while until the sea starts getting some depth. I've never swum so far from the beach before and it was funny 'cause I was the entire time afraid the Russian lady who was keeping an eye on our stuff would run away with it, but it turns out it's my living-in-Brazil paranoia I can't seem to get rid of haha

We went to a park to just chill, drink and chat and it was really nice, her friends are super super cool. That's the overall impression I have of Estonian people, they're cool.

Estonia is really crowded with Russians and people who were born in Estonia, but who can't speak a word in Estonian, only Russian. I know Estonian is such a difficult language to learn, but if you are living there, if you were born there, the least you could do is learn the language! haha
You can see the Russian influence almost everywhere there.

The nightlife in Tallinn is cool. We went to some clubs and pubs and saw plenty of noisy Americans. We heard simply one of the worst live bands in Europe in the first bar we went, we were laughing our asses off in disbelief. They kept singing a song whose lyrics basically consisted of "in the night, in the night, in the night" ad eternum and every time he would ask the audience what we wanted to hear them play next or something, we would all joke and ask for 'in the night, in the night', which the band gladly obliged! And vitually everybody there sang and danced along. I talked to some Estonian guys on the last club we went and one of them was super nice. By nice I mean totally civilised. We had a good chat, he told me how he thought Portuguese sounded just like Russian and I told him that I disagree if he means Brazilian Portuguese, but that I totally saw his point if he meant Portuguese Portuguese (weird pitch and full of shhs). Which he confirmed it was what he meant. I guess he had never heard Brazilian Portuguese before...At some point it was already dawn and the club was getting closed..so the guy got kicked out, although I didn't because apparently my friend is super well connected so they let us stay. I felt bad for the Estonian dude because he was clearly disappointed when our communication got cut off short and he couldn't get my contact details :/

I had the opportunity to experience a music festival in Estonia, how awesome is that? SUPER. It was the Viru Folk Festival, in Käsmu, where I met the man of my dreams and had a fucking blast with her super cool friends. It was rainy, but it was not a problem. Really good bands and an incredible atmosphere. I'm so glad my friend decided to take me there.
It was really hilarious to see some guys trying to wake up a drunk dude and unfortunately failing, I guess the guy is still there.
After all the bands left, there was a party there and we went to dance to cool folk live music. A guy asked me to dance with him and I said no, but he kept bothering me so I left. I can't fucking humiliate myself in public like that, dude, this body of mine wasn't made for dancing, so just leave me alone!
We went to sit outside and at some point, some weird Turkish guys asked to sit with us and started with the small talks which annoy the hell out of me lol they tried to talk to me and I pretended I didn't speak English (I'm so rude!), so my friend invented a crazy story to justify, saying I was from Indonesia and then one of the guys claimed he heard us speaking in English before they arrived, so what was up with that? and my friend gave the most absurd and hilarious excuse ever and the guy seemed to believe her and I couldn't help but laugh my ass off.
I went to buy me some ice cream and one of the guys took my place beside my friend, so at some point one of her friends commented in Estonian how she was looking like a little chick between those two guys and my friend understood slut, because apparently the words sound alike in Estonian, and then they started laughing non-stop about this misunderstanding (and so did I, she explained to me in French, 'cause I "didn't" speak English, right?) and the Turks didn't know what was going on...they started to think that we were mocking them, so one of them stood up and left hahahaha those types of guys are always the ones who take themselves too seriously and have poor self-esteem, not to mention the lack of common sense. Eventually the other one left and finally I could start speaking in English again!
On the way back to the parking lot, we even scored a ride in/on a mini-golf cart from the guys we met earlier, from the festival staff! it was WILD.

Later on, we went to the beach to see the sunrise, but ended up seeing full-moons as well...

Back to Tallin, we went to the cinema, which was my first time ever watching a 3D movie. So nice of my friend to take me there <3 I liked the experience but since I'm not used to wearing glasses, it was a bit weird. And the movie we watched was the only one with the original audio, all the other ones were dubbed so we watched Monsters University. But I have never seen the first movie, Monsters S.A...mais c'est pas grave. I enjoyed the movie, but the green little monster really gets on my nerves, the little prick. I liked the big blue pink polka-dotted furry monster better.

We also went to a super fancy restaurant, courtesy of her super nice and beautiful mother, her husband and my friend's super cute and adorable little brother.  I don't remember the name of the place, will have to ask my friend about it later. It faced the sea, I had a blast.

Then we went for some shopping, where I bought a really nice leather jacket at Mango on a whim and with my fashionable friend's total support lol The store was about to close and when I went to the cashier to pay for the jacket, the cashier decided to blow off steam by telling me how tired she was and how she's been working on a 12 hour shift and how stressful that was and I told her it really sucked and then I didn't know what else could I say to make her feel better lol
I also bought tights! Good tights that I can't seem to find anywhere else...I gotta go back to Tallinn to buy myself some more quality tights...this may not seem relevant, but it was a turning point in my life: this was when I started dressing more dresses and more tights...haven't stopped since then.

Interesting> public transportation is free for all Tallinners and for sneaky tourists like me, as long as you don't get caught. And taxis are really really cheap!!!  and smelly

We went to a museum, got inside a submarine! I don't remember if it was yellow, though (duh that wasn't funny..I don't even like that song). On our way, we came across this awesome building. And on our way out we came across this gorgeous sunset...

I don't remember what we did afterwards..but I just remember that Estonia was all in all AWESOME. <3
